Description
This is a picture I took of the August, 2008 full moon. It was a windy, overcast night, and the tree branches parted just right.
This reminds me of the story of Mani, son of Mundilfari and the God of the Moon in Norse lore. He is said to pull the moon behind him, with the wolf, Sköll, pursuing him.
At the beginning of Ragnarok, Sköll finally catches Mani, devouring him, thus destroying the Moon. At the conclusion of Ragnarok, Mani's son, also called Mani, takes up where his father left off, guiding the new Moon through the heavens.

Ah, and here was me worried that the noise on my moon image was due to the camera settings. Seems that night time just isn't the best time to get clear pictures; but I think it just makes the picture look more mysterious, or horror-like.
